Have had several bad experiences with this bank. First was getting an automotive loan. They advertise rates as low as 1.99% at the time. Had to open an account and then they would tell me if I got the 1.99% loan. To get that you had to have a 800+ credit score. Mine at the time was a 799. I think it went down to 799 after they ran my credit score. Then they told me I would get a 3.99% loan. I went ahead and got it. I was a little displeased.
Felt like a gimmick they were playing. Left a bad taste in my mouth.
Then started a business and got two business accounts within their bank. This is where I realized that they were not the same as other banks. I have had a business account before, and they did not have all the fees, and you could actually see what was going on in your account. This bank would charge you for anything and everything. You cannot check your transactions. Any deposits would not be able to be looked at. I went to the bank to look at transactions that were being made on my business account that I could not see from their online account. They printed out transactions for me and charged me $100 for those documents just so I can see past transactions. I’ve had a good account at first financial in San Angelo and it had no fees associated with the accounts, and I could see any transaction that was made. If I ever needed documentation on anything, they would not charge me for it.

The worst bank experience I’ve ever had and every time I drive by their locations it just aggravates me. I’ll never have a bank account within this bank. And I am a local person from San Angelo. I can’t tell you enough to stay away from this bank and not use them. Personal or business. Games are played and hidden charges. Don’t do it.

DO NOT BANK HERE. Absolutely a waste of time. Front desk (Kaylee?) LIES about almost everything she speaks about, I had to wait 2+ weeks for TWO new debit cards she claims she mailed me but never came, refuses to change my information over the phone, completely unhelpful about every single thing I needed help with. Finally get my card, I cant activate it because I cant pay my cellphone bill because I had to get a new debit card (that took over 2 weeks to get to me) and she refuses to help me update my house phone number so I can activate my card. Broderick is amazing, he actually did his job when I spoke to him, but halie/kaylee/whatever is very unhelpful and ignorant.

Thier app and website are worthless. Every link in the app takes you to a web browser site. What's the point of having the app if no information can be displayed there it just directs you to a web browser location!. Plus get this! you have to have a username and password to access your account, noo but wait you have to have a different user name and password to pay your loan! Whoever yall hired for IT fire them right away.

One of the best banks I have banked at. You don't have to wait for a week or more for a debit card. Just a drive to the main branch after about an hour wait. I just wish I could use another debit or credit card on their online banking when I need to make a loan payment. Other than that this bank is perfect for me.

I know that financial institutions check credit when an account is opened. However, that credit check should NOT be a hard hit. Experian notified me that my credit had been checked for an installment loan, thereby lowering my score. I simply opened a small savings acct and a money market account and I feel that should NOT lower my credit score. I plan to buy or lease a vehicle within the next 6 months and wanted my score to be great. I'm very disappointed that this happened. I'm pretty sure there are other innocent account openers that don't realize their credit has been affected. I will say that someone from the office has contacted me about this, which I appreciate.

Ive never seen a bank sabotage its own products and customers so much. They downgrade their online banking so that it's basically unusable, take away the ability to view previous history, they made it so that some people (including servicemen who have since left San Angelo) couldn't even pay their loans, and now they deactivate my credit card. I couldn't even activate the new one in advance because they are so entitled and force customers to do things on THEIR schedule.

And now they announced some kind of vague "nominating committee" to filter out potential new members of the board. So if someone is tired of the nonsense and wants change, the current management can just deny them the chance. The old guard gets to be the gatekeepers. Ridiculous. No accountability. Spoiled, entitled, incompetent.

untrustworthy and unreliable

Liars and thieves. I will always tell people how bad this place is. I started a savings account with $75 and used them for a loan to purchase a truck. When I got the payments low, I was going to be late, called and talked to them, they said "it would be ok". Then on the day of they called and said if I didn't come up with the full amount before they got the truck then too bad. I payed the full amount after getting an advance. I tried to close the savings account, only I had moved they wouldn't close it without my signature. Theysaid they could do a wire transfer but that would cost $75.00? Go figure! They continued to take money from my account down to $25 saying it was inactive after I payed for a truck they tried to take back. Thanks alot 1st Community! Not to mention it was ran by someone else when I signed up and then these people took over and WoW!!
