Aegis Living Ventura

We moved my mother to Aegis Living in May 2022 and I wish I would have moved her there sooner. After my first meeting with Mary, I knew my mom would be safe, happy, well cared for and thrive. Everyone from the caregivers, nurse, dining room helpers, driver, activities coordinators and concierges are wonderful! They are always responsive to requests and are so nice and helpful to my mom. I highly recommend this community to anyone looking for a supportive, loving and friendly home for a loved one, especially with Alzheimer’s. It’s the best.

If you are finding yourself looking for a good fit for your loved one Aegis is the place. From my initial tour with Mary to every step of the process that followed was beyond pleasant. Mary was patient, personable, and a wealth of information. Mary walked me and my family through each step and reassured us the whole way. I can not say enough good things about Mary and her ability to make you feel like part of the family. Aegis is a beautiful property with great amenities but the staff is what sets them apart. Every time I was there to sign paperwork or to tour the room I was greeted warmly by all staff. Bernadette at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. Beatriz is a warm and you can tell she cares for her residents. Everyone went out of their way to introduce themselves and I could see how caring they are with the residents. I know my grandma is in good hands and I know they care for their residents like their own family. They are constantly putting on events and their residents happiness health and safety are the main priority. I am so grateful and so happy we chose Aegis.

After one month of respite care at Aegis, my husband told me that he wanted to move in permanently. The care he receives at Aegis has provided him with an increased cognitive level, more independence and new friendships. Residents are encouraged to participate in numerous and interesting activities. The entire staff is friendly, caring and devoted to each resident. Doug's needs are met 24 hours a day and he is at peace with his life. Being at Aegis has not only been good for him, but has allowed us to have a better, happier relationship and given me back a healthier life, physically and emotionally. A special shout out to Mary Sawyer who made this all happen.

After caring for my husband who has dementia at home with very good caregivers for 2 1/2 years, I knew he needed more mental stimulation than I could provide. My elder care advisor took me to Aegis Living Center first and I now know why she did. From the beginning Mary Sawyer made my decision to move my husband there very easy answering all the worries and misgivings I had. And that was just the beginning. The entire staff and management was very welcoming and kind. And my husband has become so much more engaged with life as he has become close with his Aegis community. Our visits together are warm and loving as I repair from the toll of 24/7 caregiving. And he does not miss a meal the food is so delicious. I am so grateful to have found the Aegis Living Center Ventura community.

My father has been a resident at Aegis over the last month. Mary Sawyer was so helpful with the process from the very beginning. She returned my calls and answered questions and concerns in a caring and timely manner. The staff have all been very friendly and available. The location and community is very clean and feels very welcoming. My father has been adapting so far very nicely and appears more relaxed, content, and safe. Thank you to Mary Sawyer, Mary Henderson RN, Sam, and all of the staff for helping make this transition for my father and his family very positive.
