Unacceptably more expensive than competitors like Sainsbury's, for the same mainstream products such as dairy. Absolutely no reason to shop here unless one needs something like a bottle of water.

Not impressed. I wanted to buy some ham, picked 2, in date, they were both clearly off. Discoloured, with a lot of condensation inside the sealed packaging. They were clearly mishandled and placed in the fridge. I have noticed it straight away, I don't know how the staff didn't.
Space for improvement.

TL;DR - This coop has much improved!

This used to be the worst managed coop in town, as you might guess from the former reviews - it used to always look as if the pandemic just hit, empty shelves and broken fridges everywhere.

They closed for renovations and here are the improvements:
Brand new fridges,
better layout of goods, reducing queues,
5X the amount of tills compared to before,
actually decent stock of fruit and veg,
good gluten free selection (a few gluten free bits even in the freezer!).

So I want to give credit to the much needed improvements, keep it up!

Many promo items are mislabelled so you would only get the right deal if you ask about it.
Unfortunately, the staff at this Co-op is systematically patronising even though 80% of the time they are wrong. It's pretty surprising.
Also, a few members of staff speak a very limited English.

OUR CO-OP IS CLOSING, FOR A REFIT, FOR A MONTH! OCTOBER 2023.
That’s why stock levels have been low and staff are working so hard with what they have left, be nice to the hard working assistants! Closed from 7th October, for a month, hoping for great things when it’s all refurbished. In the meantime there is a new Tesco opening just down the road on the same Saturday the Co-op shuts its doors.
