I have had this company for three yrs now and have never had any issues. They came out today with a notice for upcoming work. My wife works for home and this company went out of it way to reschedule for us. Thank you Zach Hellen and your entire team at CORE. Awesome customer and professionalism.

This company is a living nightmare to deal with. In the years i have lived in woodland park this is the first time I've had to set up electric services because I've only rented all bills paid. Core allowed one of my previous landlords to put my name on an account, that and run up a bill over $600 before shutting it off. I am now finding this out as they are the ONLY electric company in woodland park and my new house I needed to set up service. Upon calling Core I find out about this, I explain I have NEVER set up service with them and that someone has falsely represented me on a service I never agreed to. Cores Response was basically that it wasn't their problem and they "understand" but they refuse to take any responsibility for not confirming my identification and just accepting a mans voice who had my information from renting from him or however this got set up. They want me to pay the amount owed in full regardless of it not being my bill or my fault this has happened, Even when I asked to do payments just so we could end this circus they have created they refused that as well. They are very rude, Unprofessional and do not care about anyone. Woodland Park needs another option for Electricity but we don't so Core makes sure to take advantage of that and the people who live here. I am completely appalled by their behavior and customer service.

This company never knows what is wrong or when it's going to be fixed. No one on their phone line knows anything either and told us they only get updates when things are fixed.
Someone must have filled a false recovery in Flouressant to go home last night. At 630 their system said our outage was "fixed" and we had power, that never happened not for the smallest of seconds. Right now it says 19.5 hours when it should be 29 hours out of service.

Due to the COVID wreck in our economy every business is helping people struggling, but not CORE. I have kids, lost my job a month ago and Colorado unemployment is not even getting unemployment processed in 8-10 weeks. Two months to even get unemployment that YOU pay into.

So what does CORE do to respond to these rough times? They suspend all payment arrangements. They refuse to even help. Even though I can prove I have a job, that doesn’t start til next week, and will get a lump sum for unemployment they said too bad so sad pay up or get your power shut off. They don’t care it’s winter in the mountains. They don’t care if people have kids. They are the poster child for corrupt utilities that only care about money and not the people they serve. If I could give you zero stars CORE, you earned it.I hope whoever made this decision loses their job, and can’t pay their bills, and has to wait two months for unemployment so they can feel the anxiety and panic of being a dad or mom with corrupt utilities threatening to take their power without offering any relief.

Since IREA change to CORE electric (even though they said only the name changed) we get power outages every two weeks, sometimes every week. I understand that in many cases the weather affects the lines and that is out of everybody’s control, but this amount of hiccups start to seem too often to be always caused by weather, especially during days of no precipitation or wind. My bill has gone up so much because every time the power goes off the heaters stop working, naturally, and the house gets so cold that when I the service is back, the heaters are having to work so hard again to heat up the spaces. I called and got no response, no credits on us, residents accounts.

I called IREA on May 18th to set up new service for a home we purchased. I was told by the representative on the phone that I had a balance from 2008, I forget the total amount but it was between $40-$50. I was told I was unable to set up service until this was resolved. I paid this past due amount, despite asking for no proof of the owed bill, having never received a bill in 8 years, nothing was reported to my credit bureau, and despite the fact that I lived in another country the entire year of 2008, I still paid this bill in order to get service set up in my new home. I was told by the representative on the phone that if I set up automatic payments through my bank that IREA would waive the $325 deposit. I set up automatic withdrawal that same day and faxed everything in as requested. I received a notification on 6/27/16 from IREA asking me to properly set up service and set up automatic withdrawal for the deposit fee of $325. When I called to inquire about this, the representative placed me on hold while they looked into my last call. He then came back to the phone and said, "My supervisor listened to the entire call you had on May 18th and determined that you were told we would waive the fee, but this is incorrect and we won't be waiving the fee because of your past due balance". I then explained that I paid the balance that I had no proof of owing, especially when I didn't even live in the United States at the time. I asked the representative why, if they had audio proof that I was told the fee would be waived, why they aren't honoring it, he said "We did make a mistake, but it's not our policy to waive the fee". I have no other option for electrical service in my home, so we are being held hostage for a down payment from this company after they've already promised to waive the fee. Now they are promising to return this deposit after 12 months of payments. But since they promised to waive this deposit in the first place and refuse to honor it, what keeps them honest when they promise they'll refund me said money in a year? According to them "we can't keep the deposit, we have to return it". I'll never see that money again. I requested to be removed from automatic payments as they clearly cannot be trusted.

At this time I wouldn't even give this company a 1 star. I called to find out what I could do to get the power turned on at my new location. Kim was very nice but told me I had to pay my entire bill of $282 which was the incorrect amount. Upon looking at my account she offered several times for me to speak to a supervisor, I never once asked. When the manager Sue came on the line I explained some of my situation but I was only trying to explore my options. Very quickly I learned Sue should NOT be a manager at all. She didn't thank me for taking my time to call in, she didn't recognize my year of service with a monopoly company, she didnt recognize my payment history of nearly $2000 of my hard earned money dumped into this company and that I have not once asked for even a penny of a credit & I still wasn't asking for a credit. However, what manager Sue did do is talk to me in a belittling voice as though I interrupted her day & had no value to her at all. Human compassion & kindness go far with me (Everyone is battling something that you know nothing about & as I previously stated she knew very little of mine & didnt want to be bothered to learn what had happened) She couldn't comprehend why I went from 0 to 100 angry on her in the matter of a minute. She spoke to me as though I should have just known that the $2.50 western union fee just to pay your bill had been eliminated from the company. As I explained that I like 7 out of 10 Americans live paycheck to paycheck & yes I may be late on my bill but had never had a disconnect ever & how it's not right this company charges just so you can pay your bill (maybe some of the reasons as to why I've been late on paying my bill), the feds for being late on your bill, and even for a disconnect notice fee she just kept saying "sorry, it's the company policy & procedures". When I asked for her manager of course she told me it would be a week before they would call me back. Yet again feeling no value as a customer at all. Every company has policys and procedures and it's the job of the manager to know those well, however, it's the human aspect to relate those in a kind & professional manner to another human who is going through daily challenges as we all do. In the few minutes of speaking to Robert he should be the one to be given Sue's manager title. He knew he couldn't help me but I could hear it in his voice that he wanted to help & could tell something was wrong. He listened, was kind, even joked a little & reassured me help would be available 4 days sooner than what Sue promised me. I have little hope at this point that anything will come of this & they will just continue to take my money knowing I have no other choice but to do as they say but I guess we will find out next week.

Please, please take my payment from my account within a reasonable amount of time!! I paid it Friday, here it is Wednesday and it's still sitting in my account. Last time I was short by like $5 and got charged a insufficient fund fee because you take so freaking long. Like do you want the payment or not...? Can I physically drive to your office and pay it because this is getting kinda ridiculous.
