Just the worst electric company. The rates are abysmal and exorbitant, even after hurricanes left us without power. They still charged us. That Cape Coral still uses them instead of FPL says a lot about Cape Coral, Florida.

I have been waiting four days since the hurricane for the Electric company to come and change a meter in my panel because it got flooded and shorted out. The panel is fine. The meter is bad so I have been living for four days without electricity, refrigeration, lights, and air conditioning none of which are pleasant in Florida when there are 1000 trucks on Basila having someone stop to take five minutes to Poppe New meter in on the pan which that’s pretty much all it is pull the old one off pushed a new one on make sure nothing goes spark and they leave why that can’t be done in a reasonable amount of time is beyond me and when you call the helpline. The bot just spins you around in circles so no one has to answer the question on where the hell is the guy come and fix my meter. We sure paying enough for Electric service. I’m pretty sure they can pay to have an actual person. Talk to you. Too bad it’s a monopoly or I would say I would switch to a different service. Matthew Johnston disgruntled customer. And last hurricane Helen it took three days to get the power turned back on, but at least then they were changing transformers after they blew them up putting a fuse in that was too big.

I have been a customer for 45 years and have received good service in the past. However we have been experiencing power fluctuations and the electrician suggested calling LCEC first since he was aware of the problem with them. I called on a Thursday to create a service ticket. It is now Monday and when I called to check on the status of the request was told it's still an open order and has not been assigned to a service person yet. I'm frustrated to say the least. I've called an electrician again since LCEC seems to be to busy to deal with customer service issues.

How many one star reviews does a place need to get put out of business? This is the 3rd random outage this month and the best they can say is “we’re trying our absolute best” while they take multiple hours slacking around. I get it, it’s hard work but it’s not impossible….however some people are more “special” thus restricting their abilities rendering them useless.

I’m sharing my experience with Lee County Electric Cooperative (LCEC) to give others a heads-up. Despite having proof that I paid my bill on time, LCEC disconnected my service, creating a major inconvenience.
I sent my payments via registered mail on August 14, 2024 and September 3,2024, it was confirmed delivered on August 16 and September 9th. Yet, LCEC claimed they never received it. Without addressing my billing dispute, they cut off my electricity on October 23, 2024, while I was out of the country. Ironically, they sent a “resolution” email on October 24 — the day after disconnecting my service. What’s especially frustrating is my bill keeps climbing each month, even when I’m hardly using electricity. There were times I was away for days, yet the charges kept going up without any clear explanation. It feels like LCEC’s billing doesn’t match my actual usage. Now they’re saying they can’t restore my power until Monday, leaving me without electricity for days. I also reached out to Denise Vidal, LCEC’s CEO, hoping for some resolution, but I’ve yet to receive any response — not an email or a call. It’s frustrating and honestly unacceptable to be ignored at this level, especially after all the trouble this has caused. This has caused me serious trouble and shows how poorly they manage payments and treat customer issues. If you’re an LCEC customer, be cautious; even with proof of payment, you could face the same issues. This experience has made it clear to me how they handle — or rather, mishandle — disputes and billing errors.

These damn rats are stealing your money, you have to call to get the price lowered, otherwise they will continue to charge you whatever they want, you have to call, I don't live at home, I'm in another state and look how they continue to charge. If you want the Bill lowered, you have to call, you can't stay silent

Today is the third complete day LCEC's third party connection company has come to shut off my power, replace a wooden pole and turn my power back on. The first day, they arrived with six trucks and brought a pole too short. They stayed the whole day, trucks running with our power off. The second day they brought a new pole but forgot the transformer. They sat around the whole day, didn't put in the correct pole, trucks running, power off accomplishing nothing. Again six trucks with accompanying crews. Today they are here again. They shut off the power at 8:15am, same six trucks with full complement of guys, its after 1500 and still no power. There is one guy sitting in a bucket, one guy lying on the ground. I don't know where the rest of the crew is. This is a waste of your money, time, etc. I have not seen a representative for LCEC come by and check on the efficiency of the work. No LCEC supervisor has been here to my knowledge. You are paying for this work and, I'm sure, passing the cost to the public. They have caused deep deep ruts in several yards in this neighborhood, thrown empty water bottles on the ground for us to pick up...say nothing of the now three days discomfort in the summer heat.

I have lived in Southwest Florida for 40 years. I have been through many hurricanes but the one that we had last week devastated our entire community. So much worse than anyone could imagine. LCEC decided that they did not need free help from the outside, again, free help… Whoever is in charge of making those decisions should be put in jail they are absolutely terrible and don’t deserve to be in any type of position to be making decisions that are literally life-saving and life-changing. I don’t even know how they can sleep at night they should be ashamed of themselves. Lee County electric co-op sounds more like Lee county electric dictatorship.
