OK. So I have been using them for a year and haven’t had any problems. I’m building a new house and have had nothing but help and professional support from them. They even went as far as sending out a guy to go over the plans for the house and make sure everything will be in line for them to hook up. I was really surprised that they cover the cost of installing underground service to the house. Up to 300 feet. 99% of the companies I have gotten power from will make you cover the cost of installation including conduit and trenching. Most utility companies will even make you buy and pull the wire to the house.

Mother recently passed away amd disabled brother is staying in home. Payment posted my account on 4th they disconnected on 5th. I had to re start a new application cause mom was gone. Explaining my situation living in Kansas trying to help take care of him in Texas he is on Oxygen and needs his electric. Paid $1000 and was told would be back on that day. Next morning call still not on said because it was new service gets pushed to the back. So new service but i had to pay past due, current and deposit. Not been able to reach my brother all night no phone and no use of his medical equipment. Really heartless bunch of people. I pray they never have a need such as this.

Prices are way too high even for people with little electricity consumption paying $500 a month just for electricity is robbery and when you call to speak to someone they are as short as possible with you and tell you that there’s nothing that can be done to help you. I highly recommend not even moving to an area of the base service, which is all of Streetman. My family has been here almost a year and there has not been a bill under $300. We will be moving. After our lease is up. Very unprofessional and very poor service especially whenever you get outages is often.

They're the only company allowed in my area which is literally a monopoly, which shows in their pricing. Staff is also awful. There's only like two office people and I always get stuck talking to Tiffany. She's pretty rude and even laughed at me one time during an outage in August when I said I was worried the house was too hot for my animals. LAUGHED. That's sick.

Lots of entitled people leaving bad reviews, so I'm leaving one of my own that's hopefully reasonable.

Company does good work, has good people, but doesn't operate like your standard corp power company. If you're unaware of what a cooperative is, you should do your research.

Rates are usually very good, and historically (last 10 years) has been better than a majority of city providers. However, the coop doesn't produce it's own power, and thus DOES NOT CONTROL the base cost of energy.

Finally, they do need to improve their position and capabilities with residential solar panel applications. The only thing keeping me from dropping $20-$40k on panels is the lack of energy credits that roll month to month.

Bills are unreasonably high, and the “explanation” posted on their site doesn’t provide any real relief to its members. Either pay or be without electricity. Have been with them over 20 years and this has got to be the worst its ever been. This isn’t about being entitled as others have mentioned, it’s about having affordable and fair utility prices. If you can avoid using them please go with another company. Unfortunately we are forced to have the coop because of our location. Consumer beware.

I want to give a BIG shout out, Kudos to Navarro County Electric Co-Op!

Sure we were inconvenienced to be without electricity for more than a day, we are America Strong and Country Proud! We survive, we thrive, we communicate, even if stranger before, we come together and help and take care of each other out here. NCEC did a fine job with addressing the problems as quickly as their manpower and resources allowed, communicated respectfully and timely when power was restored. Of course there were a few busy signals along the way, but the times I did get through, they call takers were really sweet, concerned and as informative as they could be. They may not have had the answers you wanted to hear, but their job was to take your call, they were not out on the front lines trying to resolve your issue, they just doing their part of the job!

Those in the field trying to restore your service had a really BIG job to do and I think they did a fine job considering the conditions, geographical expanse of service area, and probably the manpower and resources they had to work with.
