I have had a great experience with this particular location. Very professional , very helpful and very clean.

Probably, the best DPS experience ever. Yes, you need an appointment, but that helps both sides with a super efficient process to go through your drivers license renewal. My agent (CL32407) was very friendly and forthcoming. Kudos to all the MDV staff for being welcoming and professional.

I just took my son to get his permit, we did have an appointment set and we came prepared. Very pleasant experience. 1. I did not have to wait in a 27 degree weather outside. they took us in inside and took us inside on time. The person who processed our paper work was very pleasant and was even apologetic for having us re-write the application form even though it was our mistake to use the wrong one. Thanked us multiple times for being prepared.

The appointment system is absolutely ridiculous!
I live a mile away from the Mckinney location, but the earliest appointment I could get was at the Plano office, two months from the day I made the appointment. I got there on time but it had been closed due to bad weather. I didn't cancel the appointment, but now I have to make another appointment and wait 3 goddamn more months for the appointment!

Had an 8:30am appointment to renew my driver’s license. I arrived at 7:59, checked in online and did my vision test and was handed the renewal application on a clipboard. I filled out my application and sat in a clean waiting room for less than half an hour. My ticket number was called on and I was with a representative, paid my fee, took my new photo and was out the door before 9am. Chris was friendly, informative and helpful. Overall, a great experience at this location! Highly recommend!

I see that there's a decent amount of negative reviews on here so it makes me feel good to be able to add to the positive review community! I have been to several DPS locations in the state of Texas and my experience has always been extremely negative and discouraging. This is by far the best office I have ever come across and I'm grateful to have found a location where every experience I've had this far has been a breath of fresh air. This office exceeded my expectations by far. The staff is very helpful, knowledgeable, and professional, and most importantly they all have a positive demeanor. I worked with Carrie and Deja and they were both awesome from the beginning to the end of our interactions. I hope that everyone gets a raise in this office because they all deserve one!

Should not be legal to operate at THIS level of sub optimization. Why in the world is the process of getting a simple state ID THIS difficult? Just confirm the identity and let me get the ID mailed to me. Its not even a drivers license. Its easier for an undocumented immigrant to get into this country then it is for me to get a simple state ID.

They'll turn you away even if you have all the paperwork you need to bring, and today, they had technical issues but never bothered to call people scheduled to come in for driving tests or learner's permit to come back another day. They let people come in, fill out all the paperwork they need to fill out there, only to tell them right after that they will do callbacks due to technical issues. You should not be allowing people to come in and fill out paperwork when you know you can't test them. How absolutely ridiculous you are to be part of the Texas government and this is how you operate.
