As a director of the fairly new Sage Room Co-op, I have found the Co-op Federation to be incredibly supportive and knowledgeable. I attended their governance workshop recently and learned a vast amount, and then had the pleasure of being a part of their Queensland conference the next day. Meeting so many other like-minded people, and hearing others success stories was so inspiring, and I came home feeling very encouraged about the future of co-ops! We loved working with the Co-op Federation! They are incredibly knowledgeable, extremely helpful and were able to walk us through the entire process of setting up our entity as a co-op. We had so many questions and they were able to provide answers, info and resources for everything. We found The Co-op Federation when investigating what structure to choose to form our Creative Hub organisation. We first talked to Sam, and he explained the democratic structure of a co-operative, we decided it was for us. Sam and Molly walked us through the decisions the group needed to make to compose our founding documents and even dialed into our formation meeting. They handled all correspondence and fees with Fair Trading and made the process extremely swift and easy, taking about three weeks from our first phone call to our receiving our official co-op registration approval just before our opening night! We couldn’t be happier with our experience with The Co-op Federation and expect Wauchope Creative Hub to thrive for many decades to come.

The co-op governance short course run by the federation was really positive, insightful and informative. The team at the Federation are really helpful and the break out groups really helped to get a better understanding of the governance principles through the issues faced by other co-ops.

The co-op federation is an incredible supporter of co-ops, bringing the diverse range of cooperatives together at small and large scale events, nurturing them through training and workshops, and offering a safe and supportive ear for co-op related questions. We have been working with the Co-op Federation for the past 6 months to navigate the process of becoming an Agri-culture Co-operative on the Coffs Coast. Right from our very first engagement many doors were opened to us.
