I was there on December 10th at 10am, Ticket Number C215, DESK 1, very rude worker, I needed to replace my son’s SSC and I got there and she told me I was supposed to go to the Patchogue office but to “not worry” cause she was going to send the application and all of our paperwork to them so they could process the application and send us the new card in the mail and gave me the number for the patchogue office and told me to wait 14 days for the card so today 12/27 i decided to call the patchogue office and ask what’s the status of my application.. (they had no application and no paperwork was ever sent to them) so I lost a half a day of work to do this and nothing was done. I really think people should be punished or suspended without pay when they do this to others, this isn’t ok and they should face the consequences of their actions. If I could give this office 0 stars I would.

Called about an issue they had processing my wife’s part B benefit. We had purposely went to apply in October hoping to avoid any issues. We placed a call to the office on November 21 and they had told us they had a problem but it will be resolved by next week. We called back on November 28 and told the issue was resolved l. We were told to expect the card In approximately three weeks.Now she cannot apply for part B until we receive her card. Now she will not be able to enroll before December 7th. Mrs P the woman we spoke to basically said to bad nothing she could do not her fault. Very rude and condescending. She should not be in customer service.

I had written a very long post about the frightening inefficiency of this government agency which I do not have the energy to recreate. Suffice it to say they are the WORST, most unhelpful, slowest, most inept, poorest communicating, hardest to reach service that I have EVER dealt with. Our local, Melville NY office is just awful and completely sour and unhelpful. If this was a private company, it would be out of business in a week. Very sad to see our tax dollars in action in this way.

After filling out applications for myself and my children, I was told this office does not service my address, which is 15 minutes from the office.

While I knew that was inaccurate information, the gentlemen behind the counter was curt and decided the inconvenience of driving to another office was the better alternative.

Lady at window 4 today was unhelpful and not inclined to help. She also apparently doesn’t understand that people with severe autism can’t independently sign yet keeps insisting on making him come in and sign it.

I called them a little over a week ago and spoke to a very nice young lady who was extremely helpful but that help ended with her. I sent in my paperwork as I was recently married and needed to change my information. I sent in my marriage license and was assured that it would be returned to me promptly and that they would send it certified mail with a tracking number. I did receive my social security card in the mail but still have not received my marriage license. I called them back was on hold for over 2 hours and when they finally answered I got a gentleman on the phone who told me that this number is not the number for the Melville office and gave me a different number. I called the number that they gave me and it was someone in India trying to steal my identity. Asking for my full social my credit card number and everything. I have no tried to call them for 4 days with no avail. At this rate I now have to send in to get a new marriage license from town hall and take time off of work to do this. Without that marriage license I can't do anything else in terms of getting my paperwork in order. This office is a joke and if I could leave no stars I would. I would never ever recommend this office to anyone!! Stay clear because you may have your identity stolen!!!
