My son has had such a wonderful experience at WCNS. We transitioned him from another school this year and it could not have been easier. He typically has a hard time adjusting to new people and unfamiliar places, but he was immediately at ease here. The teachers and director are so kind and patient with him. He has the freedom to explore new activities and have fun while learning. I can’t wait to send my daughter here when she’s older!

Our daughter had been registered to attend another school, but when we didn’t feel comfortable at the open house, we happened to drive by WCNS. And what a serendipitous find it turned out to be, our daughter loves all of her teachers and classmates. Every day she looks forward to going to school and every day she comes home with stories of all her adventures. The staff and leadership at the school have such a great vibe, are so dedicated, clearly love the kids and always have such pleasant smiles, even on the coldest days the warmth radiates from WCNS. We wholeheartedly recommend this preschool.

I have two children enrolled at the WCNS. I can’t say enough good things about the school! Both the director and the teachers are clearly invested in the learning and well-being of all of the children. It is a great fit for my kids because it is play based and provides the socialization that they need at this developmental stage. If you choose this school, you will not regret it!

We have had a wonderful experience with WCNS. The teachers are all kind, caring, and involved, the classrooms feel welcoming and cozy, and you truly feel a part of the special “Brown Barn” family. My son has enjoyed his first year at WCNS. The wonderful teachers always greet us with a warm welcome and have created a nurturing and caring classroom. They plan a variety of engaging, age-appropriate activities throughout the year and rotate the toys and activities to match the season or theme. I appreciate that the school lets parents visit and volunteer often - that sets them apart from other schools. The director takes the time to get to know each student and family and plans events, which helps build a true sense of belonging and community.

The Wellesley Cooperative Nursery School has been such an amazing first preschool experience for our son. The play based, child led approach to the curriculum aligns with our family values and it has been a pleasure interacting with the director and teachers. Jean, the director is so caring, communicative and approachable. Our son is thriving at WCNS, making friends easily, maturing and learning. I love that the Coop encourages parent participation and community building. Being able to join in during free play, or come in to the classroom to share a family tradition or favorite activity is such a special experience for both the parents and the children! We love our Brown Barn school!

From day one the teachers and director have made our daughters transition into preschool feel effortless, she enjoys school so much that she asks to go on the weekends and very often does not want to leave at pick-up! The energy and environment of WCNS is welcoming, nurturing and fun, we have been so happy with the play-based approach of this school and the community. The teachers in her classroom are warm, patient and creative, they are really attentive to the children in class. We are so grateful to have found this special school!

My daughter is a junior at WCNS. She loves the school very much and is making a lot of friends. The director Jean and the Junior room teachers are all very nice to the kids. Every morning the kids are greeted by the director and teachers. The school schedule is flexible and accommodating. It is a safe and comfortable environment and we feel very lucky to find it during our preschool search.
