What happened to Wheatsville? I want to buy my produce there but have to go to Central Market for consistency of quality - I never know if I'll be able to pick up everything on my list. The garlic was so old some of the pods were mushy and shrunken. The greens are inconsistent in how much is in a bundle, and even so, the bundles are always small compared to Central Market. All this and you charge premium prices. That's really offensive. I don't get it. Why would you even have these limes for sale? And not even in a bargain bin.
Would someone respond to this post?

Disrespectful and aggressive staff/management. I was about to go in and there was a young girl (couldn't have been more than 14) on the covered front patio, who was very obviously distressed and crying. A man who seemed to be the manager was telling her to get off the porch, and she kept saying that her older brother was still in the store. At first I thought she was having a mental health crisis because of how scared she looked (a few stores away, I saw her again and she was definitely not in a mental health crisis, she was just being harassed by a fully grown man and had a very natural reaction to that). I asked her if she was okay, and she said that she couldn't leave without her brother. Lo and behold, a moment later her brother and his wife came out of the store and they left all together. The manager was obviously on some sort of power trip and felt really good about himself after harassing a literal child who had not done anything wrong. The manager never mentioned anything about shoplifting or anything, it did not seem like the girl did anything wrong beside stand outside while her brother was in the store. I just checked the temperature and it feels like 108° right now. To make her stand in the parking lot instead of the covered patio for no reason is horrible. It's a big patio and there was no one else on it so it's not like she was taking up space that was being used. When I spoke to the manager after the family left, he ignored me and would not look me in the eye. Wheatsville has lost my business permanently. I have lived in Austin my entire life and I never expected this behavior from Wheatsville. The two staff who were involved was a short man in his maybe late 40s or 50s, and a tall ish woman, both had brown hair. Shameful, to say the least!! This was the South Lamar location. She was definitely treated this way because of her skin color, I have seen many people on the porch waiting before with no issues. I saw other comments saying similar things, I'm not surprised.

Sooo thankful for places like this when I’m traveling for work. Their hot food bar can be one of the best in the country (Ive seen dozens of similar places to compare) in terms of taste + nutrition. I rely heavily on spots like this for trusted healthy food when I don’t have a kitchen and don’t trust restaurants (cooking oils, non organic food, e.g.).

Awesome experience in-store this afternoon!!! I found everything I was looking for and to top it off I had an exceptional checkout experience with Joan! She was very inviting, talkative, and seemed happy! She was very informative about the new store hours and made what can seem like a mundane task of grocery shopping a pleasant experience. Thank you Joan! You're enthusiasm and bright spirit was contagious and made for a pleasant experience!

Another market selling organic food. Parking is easy and also access from both directions along lamar Blvd.
Prices are comparable to other markets in the area.
Will be back to try their takeaway food, looks promising from walking past the display today.
Staff are friendly!

Had to take some stars away. Sorry Wheatsville but these items have been broken for at least a year now. As an owner its a little embarrassing and a little worrisome that things like broken doors and cupboards don't bother you. Maybe it's the hippie mentality or maybe it's all the cash they've been pumping into the north store for the remodel (which is beautiful) but this store deserves more respect than you give it. Show the south location some love and maybe you'll get your stars back. On a more positive note they do lots of good in the community and they support local which is what keeps me shopping here.

Great place to shop/eat, I gave it less than 5 because it is pricey at times, but the food is usually a 'hit'. I enjoy their breakfast tacos and coffee. Food selection is great. Not the best inventory of supplements, however. Overall, SOLID 4.
