I dealt with Ms. Liliana Soto-Mejia when applying for a loan. Ms. Mejia was excellent at her job and was very helpful and informative with the whole process. She deserves praise for how hard and honest she works.

I have been a member with this credit union since 2005, and I have had a generally wonderful experience with them.
I have had many auto loans, a couple of credit cards, and I still use them as my banking system today.
I was with this credit union when it was formerly called “Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union”.

Unfortunately, the car that is financed through them was a total loss.
I am lucky that I am ahead on my payments until January.
My insurance company has been trying to reach out to them to get access to the “loan payoff request “.
This request was originally sent to Suncoast on 11/23/2024.
It is currently 12/04/2024.
I sent a message through the banking app after being on hold for an hour got me nowhere.
Two days later they responded with an email telling me to call them.

I am not sure who bought out Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union, but whoever did has significantly reduced the quality of this company.
The poor employees said that they were answering requests in the order they were received.
Since there were two hurricanes this year, their insurance department is behind.
It is clear that their employees are overworked, and need more manpower.

Back when this was called Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union, the people in charge actually cared about their employees, I guarantee customers were happier and interest rates were SIGNIFICANTLY better.
I have a credit score over 800 and have been a member here for nearly 20 years and my current auto loan is over 6%.
The loan is for a hybrid vehicle.

I’m starting to question if my next auto loan will be through Suncoast Credit Union.
It seems as if they are too busy to handle business in a timely manner when it matters most.
I am very concerned about the many people who have been affected by the hurricanes.
I wish someone cared about the fact that I will be without a car since my insurance company will no longer be paying for my rental by 12/06/2024.

I wish that my concerns were important, and that the quality of the service I am currently receiving mattered.

Update 12/05/2024:
I have reached out to the email provided in the “reply” of this review ([email protected]).
I sent my email on 12/04/2024 @ 3:21 PM.
As of now, 12/05/2024 @ 6:15 PM, they have not responded at all to this email.

This is a superficial response to save face. People in the future that are reading these reviews will think that the company takes the time to take negative feedback constructively and use this to improve company processes in a timely manner.
I have no evidence of this being true, or helpful.

I have now changed my review from 3 stars to 2 stars.

Jean-Carlo is an example a quality rep/man. He was very hospitable, friendly and seemed to be a positive person. He’s name speaks volumes, I think ? of an adult drink ? getting you right. He took great care of me.
